This is a red-brown shade from the Mr.Paint range that the maker lists in a clear form. Clear paints behave differently from opaque ones: on their own they do not cover a surface, they only give it a tone. The paint is therefore laid over an already painted and ideally smooth base, which shows through it. Depending on how light a base you choose, the same paint reads once as a light hint of rust and another time as a deep dark layer.
A clear red-brown tone is used where a color tint should show while the structure beneath stays visible: staining around exhausts and hot spots, pulling metallic sheens toward a warm tone, deepening the shadows in panel lines or tinting clear parts. Always try the technique on scrap plastic first, because the result depends on the base.
Use the thinner intended for this range and choose the thinning ratio according to the instructions from the manufacturer on the packaging. Stir the bottle before work. Lay the paint down in several thin coats and let them dry, because the depth grows with every further coat and the shade cannot be taken back. Wash and degrease the model before painting.
