The AK interactive Reverse Action Tweezer is a reverse-action pair of tweezers with the function turned around: at rest it stays closed and only opens when squeezed. It holds a part on its own, without any pressure from you. It is a modeling tool, not a kit.

This is a modeling tool, not a kit. And although it is called simply a pair of tweezers, it works exactly the other way round from the ones you know.
Ordinary tweezers: at rest they are open, you close them by squeezing with your fingers, and as soon as you ease the squeeze the tweezers open and drop the part. Holding therefore costs you strength and concentration.
Reverse-action tweezers: it is the other way round. At rest they are closed and hold, because the spring pushes them together by itself. Squeezing opens them instead, you insert or release the part, and as soon as you ease the squeeze the tweezers close again and hold on their own.
Because the tweezers hold the part without any effort on your part, you get both hands back and, above all, time. You can put them down with the part still in them. You can leave a glued part in them until the glue sets, and the tweezers hold it the whole time with the same, even force, without your having to hold your hand in the air for a minute. The hand does not tire, the part does not move, the joint does not slip. That is irreplaceable above all when gluing small parts, photo-etched parts and fine detail, which cannot be held in the fingers and which shoot out of ordinary tweezers the moment you ease the squeeze.
For modelers who work with photo-etched parts, small accessories and fine detail, which means builders of aircraft, military vehicles, ships and figures. It does not replace ordinary tweezers but complements them: with ordinary tweezers you pick a part up and carry it, with reverse-action ones you hold it for as long as you need.
Safety: the tips of the tweezers are sharp, so do not point them at yourself or at those around you and keep them out of reach of children. They are not a toy. Do not force the tweezers open past their stop, as the springiness of the arms would be damaged.
