The Rolling Pin Ancestral Recall texture roller from Green Stuff World presses a continuous relief pattern into modeling putty when you make bases and diorama groundwork. It is a tool, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a modeling tool, not a model. The roller carries an engraved pattern around its circumference that is pressed into rolled-out modeling putty in a single pass. The pattern repeats continuously, so even a larger area can be covered with no visible join. Compared with laying individual tiles, planks or stones from plastic, it is a far quicker route to a uniform texture across a whole army or a diorama. The particular motif of the pattern, the diameter of the roller and the material it is made from are stated on the box.
Roll the modeling putty, that is two-part epoxy putty, polymer clay or air-drying compound, out on a smooth surface to an even thickness. Lightly dampen both the surface of the putty and the roller with water, or wipe them with a thin layer of oil or talc, otherwise the putty will stick to the roller and tear the impression. Then press the pattern in with one smooth pass at steady pressure; going over it repeatedly blurs the image. Cut the shape of the base or the groundwork out of the putty while it is still soft, let it cure, and only then sand the edges, prime and paint. Clean the roller straight away while the residue is still damp, as once cured it is hard to get out of the engraving.
Modeling putty, bases, paints and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
