A rubber brush for applying thick modeling compounds. It suits places where an ordinary bristle brush would clog.
Responsibility details are not available.
A rubber brush is intended for applying thick compounds, that is materials that are spread out rather than brushed on: pastes for imitating mud and deposits, texture compounds for diorama bases or fillers. The rubber working end behaves differently from a bundle of bristles. It does not absorb the material, it holds its shape even under pressure and it pushes and models the compound rather than spreading it, so it is easier to leave a mark on the surface that looks like a real deposit.
Pick up a smaller amount and spread it in short movements over the area where the material would really collect: around the wheel arches, on the underside of a vehicle, at the edges of a road. With the tip you can stipple the compound and create a coarser texture; with the side you can smooth the area instead. Work in two passes rather than one; a thick layer takes a long time to dry and can crack as it does so.
Clean it right after work, while the compound has not dried; choose the cleaning product according to the instructions of the maker of the material used. Dried residue can usually be peeled off rubber, but repeated drying ruins the working end. Store the tool so that nothing presses on the rubber and it is not left in a bent shape.
Compounds, paints and other modeling material are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
