Russian Protective Green NC-1200 is a protective green shade from the Mr.Paint modeling range. The designation NC-1200 is taken over from the original paint, whose name became established on Soviet and Russian vehicles as protective green. The shade is muted and rather dark, with no marked saturation, so over a large area it does not read as a rich green but as a sober military finish.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, otherwise the settled pigment will come out unevenly in the spray. Choose the thinner the maker specifies for this range and keep to the thinning ratio given on the label; do not carry over the practice of other ranges. Apply several light coats instead of one heavy one and let them flash off between passes, otherwise the fine relief of the surface is lost.
It suits the base finish of Soviet and Russian vehicles and models where the green is to be uniform and unobtrusive. A single-color finish is rewarding to shade afterwards: lighten the center of large areas a little, darken the corners and shadowed areas and pick out the edges gently, otherwise the model reads as a flat silhouette. Always try the shade on an offcut, because over a large area it looks different than on a color chart.
Thinner, brushes and an airbrush are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
