Tamiya Sanding Sponge Sheet, 320 grit is a flexible sanding sponge in 320 grit for removing flash and casting blocks and for leveling filler. A modeling aid, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a modeling tool, not a kit. The abrasive is bonded to a flexible sponge backing, so the sheet is not rigid like sandpaper: it bends and follows the shape of the surface. That is a decisive advantage on rounded parts such as fuselages, cowlings, turrets and the helmets of figures, where rigid paper easily takes down an edge or sands a flat spot. The sponge can be cut into smaller pieces as needed and it reaches into places that are harder to get at.
With abrasives a simple rule applies: a lower number means a coarser abrasive, a higher number a finer one. Grit 320 belongs among the coarser ones and is intended for removing material, not for finishing. You always work from a coarser grit to a finer one: the coarse one does the job, the fine one then smooths out the scratches left by the coarse one. The other way round does not work: a fine abrasive will not smooth out the scratches left by a coarse one, it will only polish them and make them more visible. After sanding with 320 grit, always continue with a finer abrasive before you put primer or varnish on the surface.
For every modeler who builds plastic kits and needs to prepare a clean surface before painting. The aid also suits beginners: a rounded shape is harder to spoil with a sponge than with rigid sandpaper.
A modeling aid. Do not inhale the sanding dust: use respiratory protection, work in a ventilated area and ideally sand wet. Keep out of the reach of children.
