The Sea King is the British license-built form of the American Sikorsky S-61 helicopter. It is powered by two turboshaft engines, the main rotor has five blades and the bottom of the fuselage is shaped like a boat, so that the machine survives an emergency alighting on the surface. Sponsons sit on the sides of the fuselage, into which the main wheels retract. The rotor blades and the tail section fold for stowage on deck. The HU.5 designation belongs to the British version that served on rescue and utility tasks.
Colored three-dimensional elements for the cabin interior in 1:48 scale, printed on a backing decal paper. Against ordinary flat molded detail they have real depth, so the instruments, levers and upholstery look three-dimensional even without painting small details in. The extent of the set and the kit it is matched to are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The elements of the SPACE range are not self-adhesive and have no adhesive layer of their own. With a damp sponge and a drop of detergent, dampen only the backing paper under the piece; do not immerse the whole sheet in water. Do not use a decal softener, as it damages the printed resin and dissolves the fine detail. First paint the area the element is going onto and let it cure thoroughly, as nothing takes hold on fresh paint. Lift the released element off with tweezers, lay it on a clean, dry, degreased surface and fix it with PVA glue; the manufacturer does not recommend super glue. It pays to work one element at a time and keep checking whether the part falls into place.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
