A set of four shackles as an accessory for models of hardware. The separate parts will replace coarse or missing attachment points for tow cables and towing eyes.
Responsibility details are not available.
A shackle is a U-shaped part with a cross pin, with which a tow cable, a towing eye or a load attachment is connected on a vehicle. On military as well as civilian hardware, shackles tend to be at the front and rear of the body, on the fenders and on the attachment points for tools, so they belong among the small things that are seen close up on a finished model and reveal how much care the build was given.
The package contains four pieces. The separate parts are useful in two situations: either the kit contains no shackles at all, or it has them merely suggested on the surface of the part, so that they cannot be told apart from the surrounding armor. By fitting separate parts, the model gains three-dimensional detail instead of suggested relief, and a cable or a chain on it can really end somewhere.
Before gluing, dry-fit the parts and check the position and the angle; the placing differs from machine to machine, so it pays off to work from the instructions for the kit or from a period photograph. They are glued with cyanoacrylate applied in a small amount, which joins even materials on which cement for polystyrene has no effect. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and apply a primer so that the finish holds. Fit them only at the end of the build, when you will no longer be sanding on the model. Check which scale the set is intended for against the manufacturer's part number RB10374A.
Four pieces of the parts are supplied. The model, the kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
