According to the name it brings together modeling paints and pigments, that is two materials that complement each other when corrosion is shown: paint builds the tone and the area, pigment adds grain and depth. The shades are matched so that they follow on from one another in a single procedure.
Rust is not one color. A fresh bloom is orange and bright, older corrosion darkens to brown, and long neglected metal goes over into a deep red with almost black places. A believable result therefore rests on several tones side by side, not on one. The set gives this range together and adds pigments for the places where corrosion flakes off and holds in seams. It comes into its own on military equipment, in wreck scenes, on railroad vehicles, on ship hulls and on fences, drums and sheet-metal shelters in a diorama.
For modelers of equipment, builders of dioramas and wreck scenes and for anyone who wants the whole range of corrosion matched in one set instead of assembling it from different ranges.
