Paint Forge Square Stencils M – a universal stencil with squares

A universal airbrush stencil from the brand Paint Forge out of the Stencils range with a square motif, listed in size M. According to the name a sheet of 14 x 9.8 cm corresponds to it, that is the smaller of the pair of sizes available. It is not cut to the outline of a particular kit: you are buying a pattern that you place where you need it. A smaller sheet holds more easily on a small area and does not get in the way where a large sheet would catch on the surrounding parts of a model.

Use

• Let the surface dry and degrease it, then lay the stencil on and fix it with masking tape.
• Spray perpendicular from above, at low pressure and in two or three thin coats. A heavy coat will seep under the edge and the corners of squares will be rounded off.
• With small motifs lower the pressure even further, otherwise the detail will run together and the edges will lose their crispness.
• Lay the spacings out dry in advance. With a repeated grid regularity matters more than speed.
• Once you finish spraying, clean the stencil before the paint has dried on it.

Who the stencil is for

It suits finer work: angular decor on figures and science-fiction models, grids and panels on hardware in smaller scales, paving and grating on the small surfaces of dioramas. It works everywhere a large sheet would get in the way during spraying. Anyone who needs to cover more extensive areas at once will reach for the L variant with its sheet of 14 x 20 cm.

It is an aid for painting, not a kit. Paints, an airbrush and masking tape are not included in the package. Ventilate while spraying and protect your airways.
