Stainless saws for modelers knife (Hauler)

A set of thin stainless steel (photo-etched) saw blades shaped so that they clamp into an ordinary modeling knife in place of the usual blade. They turn the hobby knife you already own into an accurate modeling saw, with no need to buy a separate handle. This is neither a kit nor a model, it is a modeling tool. The thin blades leave a narrow kerf and suit fine cuts in plastic and resin, where a heavier saw would take away too much material.

Use and tips

• Clamp the blade into the handle of the modeling knife just like an ordinary blade and lock it properly so that it cannot move during the cut.
• Cut with light strokes; do not overload the thin blade with pressure so that it does not bend or break.
• Suitable for injection-molded plastic and resin: separating parts, cutting grooves, reshaping and opening up filled-in holes.
• Start the cut by marking a shallow notch and only then deepen it.
• For a straight cut use a ruler or a square as a guide and clean up the edges afterwards.

For modelers who want to use their existing modeling knife as a saw as well and need accurate fine cuts with the least possible loss of material - a practical solution when you do not want to carry a separate saw around with you.
