Static Grass Flock 2-3mm - WINTERFALL GRASS - 200 ml

Static grass 2-3 mm, Winterfall Grass, 200 ml

What it is

This is neither paint nor a model but scenic material: fine fibers 2 to 3 mm long with which grassy growth is created on dioramas, bases and terrain models. According to the name the package holds 200 ml. The Winterfall Grass shade refers to winter and late autumn grass, that is to faded, pale growth with no green component; it suits scenes at the end of the year, snow-covered views and places where the vegetation is meant to look spent.

Use

• first coat the area with grass glue or thinned PVA glue
• apply the fibers with an electrostatic applicator so that they stand upright
• work in smaller sections, so that the glue does not dry in the meantime
• once dry, knock the excess off or vacuum it up carefully and use it again
• in winter scenes let the grass grow through the snow paste, because a purely white area looks unnatural
• combine it with longer fibers and tufts, so that the growth is not uniform

Who it is for

For builders of winter and late autumn dioramas who are missing a pale grass to contrast with snow and mud. Short fibers of 2 to 3 mm serve well as the basic growth into which taller tufts are then set. The pale shade is useful outside winter scenes too, because in small patches it breaks up uniform greenery and gives terrain depth.

The volume of the package follows from the name of the product. Keep the fibers dry and out of reach of children; static grass is easily stirred up once poured out, so do not work with it in a draft.
