The stern mirror 45 mm is a decorative metal part from Constructo for wooden ship models. It is fitted to the stern wall of a completed hull; it is not a ship kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a separate decorative metal part, not a ship model. The stern mirror is the flat stern wall of a hull, on historic sailing ships the most decorated part of the whole vessel. A ready-made casting replaces the slow hand cutting of frames, moldings and window openings in wood. The size given for this variant is 45 mm, so it is intended for smaller hulls than the larger part of the same range.
It can only be fitted at the moment when the stern wall is finished, sanded and ready for varnishing. Always lay the part against the actual stern of your model first. The decoration of the stern is the most conspicuous element of the whole build in proportion, so a part that is disproportionately large or small is visible at first glance. If your stern is wider, reach for the larger variant from the same range.
Free the casting of flash and of the remains of the casting system with a fine file, then degrease it, otherwise paint will not hold on it. It is glued with super glue or two-part epoxy onto dry and flat wood. A primer meant for metal surfaces belongs on the metal, and only then the covering shade. You will bring out the relief of the casting best by spraying the whole part with a dark base and then drawing a light or gold shade lightly over the raised edges with a dry brush.
It is a separate accessory, not a complete ship model. Glue, paints and other materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
