A black Green Stuff World display plinth with a straight back wall and a 6x6x6 cm size designation. Among the three sizes offered it stands in the middle. A model on it is not only standing on a board but also in front of an area that replaces the background of a room. It is a presentation accessory, not a model or a part of one.
As soon as a scene has a back wall, the question stops being only how large the plinth is and starts being how much free space is left around the model. A cubic 6x6x6 cm size designation gives roughly the same room in height as to the sides, so it is easy to work with: the model can be seated in the middle and look balanced, or shifted to one side to gain tension and a direction for the eye. The second thing is height. When a model rises above the top edge of the wall, the background stops working at exactly the place where it is most visible, that is at the figure's head. So rather choose a size the model fits into entirely.
The middle size suits figures and busts that have outgrown the smallest format but do not yet need the largest of the range. It will be appreciated by a collector who wants presentation settled for good, and by a modeler who finds a permanent background for photographs useful.
