An ABS plastic strip with a cross-section of 0.25 x 5.00 mm and a length of 350 mm, ten pieces per bag. Material for building your own parts, for stiffeners and for repairs.
Responsibility details are not available.
Plastic strip is one of the basic materials for a modeler who makes some of the parts himself. It suits stiffening joints from the inside, replacing missing strips and frames, lining floors and walls in a diorama and repairing a broken or missing part. The thin and fairly wide cross-section can be bent into a gentle curve without heating, so the strip will sit even on a rounded surface.
The strip is 0.25 mm thick, 5.00 mm wide and 350 mm long. There are ten pieces in the bag, 3.5 meters of material in total. In 1:35 scale the width of 5 mm corresponds to roughly 17.5 cm on the real thing and the thickness of 0.25 mm to just under a centimeter, so the strip will give you a plank, a rim or a stiffener. The material is ABS, a tough plastic that cuts and sands well and cracks less readily when bent than hard polystyrene.
Make several light cuts along a ruler with a sharp blade and then snap the strip off; dress the edges with fine sandpaper so that the joint seats. ABS is not polystyrene, so ordinary solvent cement for polystyrene kits may not bond reliably. Test it on an offcut first, otherwise reach for cyanoacrylate glue. Wash and degrease the surface before painting, the plastic then holds the primer better.
Ten pieces of strip profile are supplied in one bag. Glue, paints and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
