Sumothay, Prior Warrior is a collector figure in the larger 54 mm size from the brand AK Interactive, supplied as a casting to be assembled and painted.
Responsibility details are not available.
A collector figure to assemble and paint yourself, in 54 mm size. Against small 35 mm characters the larger format is a different discipline: the areas are more extensive, so every transition that is not smooth shows on them, but at the same time there is enough room on them for worked-up modeling. The number of parts and any base are stated on the box.
The character is conceived as a massive wrestler type, where the main expression is carried by bodily mass, that is by large continuous areas of skin and relatively little cloth or gear to break them up. That also sets the way of painting it: the basis is not detail but volume. The particular pose is not stated here.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap and let it dry out thoroughly. On a larger figure the casting blocks tend to be thicker, so cut them off with a modeling saw leaving a margin and then level the area with a file and sandpapers through several grits, because on smooth skin every remaining dimple shows. Take the seams off with a scalpel and polish them out. Glue with super glue, fill the gaps with putty and sand them back again. After the primer it pays on large areas of skin to do the basic modeling with an airbrush and the finishing with glazes, that is with heavily thinned coats laid over one another with a brush. Work on a wet palette so as to keep the paint in consistency, and build the transitions gradually, because at 54 mm smoothness matters more than the number of highlighted details.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
