The set of hand-painted figures Woodland Scenics Sun Bathers in HO 1:87 scale brings finished figures of people sunbathing for beaches, shores and pools on a layout.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of finished, hand-painted figures in HO scale with the motif of people resting in the sun. The figures are not a kit and not a bare casting; they come painted and ready to be placed. It is a typical summer genre vignette with which the shore of a pond, a sandy beach by the track, a garden with a pool or a grassy patch in a park is brought to life. Lying and sitting figures are rarer on a layout than standing ones, which is why they can give a scene a character that walking figures on their own cannot manage.
Place the figures by the water, on blankets or on lounge chairs, ideally in irregular little groups. It does a scene good to add small items such as a sun umbrella, a towel or a bag to the surroundings, because an isolated figure in the middle of an open area looks illogical. A summer vignette suits above all modules set in the warm part of the year, as it would contradict scenery with spring or winter vegetation.
The figures are glued down with a drop of PVA glue or cyanoacrylate glue, and lying figures call for a really flat surface, otherwise they look unnaturally lifted. The shade can be fine-tuned with a brush as needed and a full repaint is not necessary. Once they are in place a light layer of matte varnish is worth adding, as it protects the paint against rubbing and against dust.
The figures are supplied finished and hand-painted. This is not a kit, and a layout, scenery and glue are not included in the package.
