Tamiya Finishing Abrasives Fine Set: abrasive papers (P400 / P600 / P1000)

This set of abrasive papers from the Japanese manufacturer Tamiya holds five sheets in three grits: two sheets of P400, one of P600 and two of P1000. The papers are intended for modeling work on plastic, but they will also serve on metal or wood. They can be used dry as well as wet, and their surface resists clogging, so they are easier to clean and last longer.

Use

• Sanding down parting and joint lines after the parts have been assembled
• Leveling excess filler and small irregularities
• Refining the surface step by step from P400 through P600 to P1000
• Preparing the base before spraying primer and paint
• Sanding dry as well as wet (wet sanding cuts down the dust)

Suitable for builders of plastic models who want to achieve a smooth surface with no visible seams. The Fine Set covers the middle stage of sanding; the finer Ultra Fine range follows on for the very final polishing. We recommend having the set in the basic equipment of every bench.
