The tracks match the late production of the German Pz.Kpfw. III and Pz.Kpfw. IV medium tanks. During the war the two families gradually converged in the parts they used, and in the later versions they ran on the same type of link track. It is the track that is usually the most conspicuous part of the running gear on a finished model: it passes over the drive sprocket and the idler wheel, over the road wheels and the return rollers, and its sag says a great deal about how carefully the running gear is built.
This is a set of tracks assembled from individual links. The links are joined so that the joint stays movable, so the finished track can be threaded over the wheels and allowed to sag naturally instead of holding in one rigid piece. The number of links in the package and the recommended number per track run are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the links with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand off the remaining excess material and the traces of manufacture. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts and the manufacturer's directions, and use it sparingly so that the joint does not flood and stop moving. Build the track in shorter sections and keep trying it dry on the running gear. It is more comfortable to paint away from the model while the links are still freely accessible; fit them only afterwards and let them dry thoroughly before handling.
The set will please modelers who want the running gear in full detail and are not satisfied with a track cast in one piece. The extra work shows above all in the sag between the return rollers and in how the track sits on the drive sprocket. The model kit, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
