Template curves is a universal SX-Art masking stencil for spraying curved lines and arcs. It is not tied to a particular model or scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Where the straight-line stencils deal with stripes and straight borders, this one is intended for arcs and smoothly curving transitions. It is not bound to a particular kit or to a single scale. You can use it on an airplane, on a vehicle and on car bodywork anywhere a color border is meant to curve smoothly.
A curved border is the hardest discipline in masking. Straight tape breaks up around an arc and forms tiny teeth, tape that is bent changes width and wanders on a longer arc. The stencil therefore aims at soft as well as sharp transitions between camouflage fields, at curved dividing lines between the upper and lower color, at rounded surrounds around canopies and intakes, and at decorative arcs on bodywork. It also proves useful where you need to repeat the same arc symmetrically on both sides of a model.
The base coat has to be smooth, degreased and fully dry. Press the stencil down along the whole length of the arc and pay attention to the places with the smallest radius — that is where paint runs under most often. Cover the surroundings with tape and paper, as overspray from an airbrush travels further than it seems. Spray at a right angle, thinly and in several passes; for camouflage transitions you can lift the stencil a few millimeters above the surface and so gain a soft, blurred edge instead of a sharp one. Check the symmetry of the two sides by looking from above and from behind, not from the side alone.
Paints, masking tape and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
