TRACK RUST PIGMENT

AK Interactive Track Rust Pigment — Track Rust Pigment (35 ml)

An ultra-fine dry pigment (colored powder) from AK Interactive in the shade of track and running-gear rust. It is not a covering paint or a kit, but a loose powder in a 35 ml bottle. The tone is tuned for corrosion on the metal tracks, rollers and running gear of tanks and tracked vehicles — it combines rust with the darker, earthy grime that forms on tracks from operating in the field. The pigment can be applied dry with a brush, or mixed with thinner and worked wet.

Use

• Apply it dry with a soft brush onto tracks, rollers and running gear.
• For wet use, mix the pigment with a fixative (pigment fixer) or mineral spirits for dried-on deposits on the running gear.
• Fix the dry pigment by adding a drop of fixative, mineral spirits, or by spraying it with a matte varnish.
• Polish the track contact surfaces with graphite or a metallic pigment to highlight bare, worn metal.

Who it is for

For modelers of tanks and tracked vehicles building realistic rust and grime on the running gear.

It is a fine powder — do not inhale it, do not ingest it, and work in a well-ventilated area; keep out of the reach of children. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
