Grass strips — beige are finished lengths of dry straw-colored growth with no green component. Intended for parched scenes, stubble fields and dry regions.
Responsibility details are not available.
A finished scenery material for dioramas and model railroad layouts: a continuous strip of grassy growth that is cut to the length you need and glued onto the base. The beige version is a purely dry, straw-colored shade with no green component — grass scorched by the sun, a stubble field after harvest or the growth of dry and hot regions.
The beige strip is indispensable for scenes set in southern Europe, North Africa, the Middle East or at the peak of a dry Central European summer. Use it on the edges of dusty tracks, on stubble fields, in dried-out ditches, around earth-built structures, at the feet of walls and fences or on the embankments of unwatered lines. With desert and semi-desert dioramas in particular it holds true that any green shade immediately shifts a scene somewhere else — beige keeps a credible parched quality. The material is not tied to a single scale.
Paint the substrate a sand or light ocher shade, so that the gaps blend into the surrounding parched soil. Glue with PVA wood glue or thin latex. Cut the edges irregularly and thin the growth out — in dry regions grass does not grow in a continuous carpet but in tufts with bare areas between them. Finish the dustiness with a light dusting of light pigment, which at the same time blends the color of the grass with the terrain and with any vehicle standing in the scene.
This is a scenery accessory for building dioramas, not a model kit. The glue, the paints and any further material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
