Tuft-Tac is a product from the American label Woodland out of its line of glues and binders for scenic work. Woodland is among the best-known suppliers of materials for making landscape, dioramas and model railroads, and its range of glues and binders completes the grass materials, foliage and scenic accessories of the same label. This is not a model or an accessory for a model but a consumable for the workshop.
The name is the manufacturer's trade designation. The exact purpose, the procedure, the working time and the instructions for safe use and storage are in the manufacturer's information on the packaging, and we recommend going by them: with modeling glues those details differ from type to type and a mix-up shows only on the finished scene. The volume of the package and the composition are therefore on the packaging as well.
In scenic work one usually works over smaller areas, so that there is time to place the material before the glue stops being workable. It proves worthwhile to prepare everything needed in advance, to keep a clean surface to hand and not to try a new procedure straight on a finished scene but first to one side on an offcut. Clean tools and containers immediately after the work is done.
