Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German three-axle cross-country passenger car Mercedes-Benz G4 in the 1939 production form, 1:35 scale, made by ICM. The set contains clear parts for the glazing and figures of the passengers, and it offers a finely rendered chassis as well as an engine which can be revealed once the hood is lifted.
The Mercedes-Benz G4 (type W31) was a three-axle cross-country car developed in the 1930s. It grew out of a luxury car of the upper class and was built in small numbers only. The arrangement with two driven rear axles gave it good going across country. The car was used mostly as a parade and staff automobile of the highest state and military figures of the Germany of the time. A number of period photographs have survived, from which the model can be faithfully finished.
Paint and weather the engine and the chassis before the body is seated. Glue the clear parts of the glazing on at the very end and protect them from overspray. Use a thin modeling cement on the plastic, prime the whole thing and paint with an airbrush; a gloss varnish will bring the painted surfaces of the body to life. Paint the figures separately, section by section (the face, the uniform, the equipment). A fine wash will pick out the detail, and mild dust weathering with pigments will complete the impression of cross-country use.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
