Grass tufts with a fiber height of 5 mm for making dioramas, bases for models and scenic details.
Responsibility details are not available.
Grass tufts are among the quickest ways to bring a diorama, a base under a model or a small scene to life. Unlike scattered grass, the fibers are held together in a bunch, so a three-dimensional clump is created that can be placed exactly where the builder wants it: at the edge of a path, at the foot of a wall, in a track rut or between stones. The tufts on offer have a fiber height of 5 mm.
Five millimeters corresponds in 1:35 scale to grass about 17.5 centimeters tall, in 1:48 scale to about 24 centimeters and in 1:72 scale to roughly 36 centimeters. In the smaller scales the tufts therefore read as taller, uncut growth, and in the larger ones as ordinary grass along a path. Choose where to put them in a scene accordingly.
Before gluing the tufts, check in the manufacturer's instructions whether they have an adhesive underside. If they do not, stick them down with a drop of PVA glue and press them with tweezers. Place them irregularly and at varying density, because a regular grid gives an artificial scene away at first glance. The height and shape of a clump can be adjusted with scissors and the look evened out with a light spray of thinned paint from a greater distance, so that the fibers do not go limp. It is advisable to dust the base of a tuft with pigment or dry paint in the shade of the surrounding soil, so that the transition into the groundwork is not visible.
The package contains the grass tufts stated. The diorama, the base, glue and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
