U-STAR tungsten carbide micro drill bit 0.7 mm

This is a single drill bit in tungsten carbide, 0.7 mm in diameter, intended for modeling work. It is fitted into a hand drill holder (a pin vise) or into a small drill and serves to create accurate, clean holes.

Use

  • Drilling holes for steel pins, machine gun barrels or copper tubing.
  • Drilling out gun muzzles and exhausts for a more faithful appearance.
  • Holes for handles, antennas and the installation of photo-etched parts.
  • Work by hand with a drill holder or in a micro drill at low speed.

Who it is for

For modelers who need to drill small details accurately and without frayed edges. Tungsten carbide holds its edge longer than ordinary steel, but it is also more brittle and will not take bending.

The bit is hard but breakable: drill without side pressure and protect your eyes. Keep out of the reach of children.

FAQ

Plastic, resin, photo-etch and softer metals. For hard metals it is suitable only with reservations and always at low speed.

Not necessarily. The bit can be clamped in an ordinary hand drill holder, or in a modeling micro drill.

Carbide is markedly harder than steel and holds its edge longer, thanks to which it drills cleanly. It is more brittle, though, so do not put side pressure on it.
