A modeling paint in the Sky shade, listed under the designation UA095 and referring to the FS 34424 color standard. The shade is associated above all with British aircraft of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
Sky is a light, greenish gray shade that became established in British service during the Second World War as the color of the undersides of fighter aircraft. A number of machines carried an identification band on the rear fuselage and a propeller spinner in the same tone, so the paint finds use in several places on one model. The number FS 34424 in the name refers to the standard against which the shade is compared.
It comes into play most often on British single-engine fighters and on machines that flew in this scheme after the war as well. A light tone is sensitive to what lies underneath: on dark plastic it looks different than on light, so it pays to unify the surface with a primer and spray the covering coat only onto that.
It will be appreciated by builders of British aircraft who want to hit the shade without mixing. Light tones of this kind take final toning and a gentle emphasis of the panel lines well, because even a small difference in brightness shows clearly on them.
Thinner, primer, varnish and the model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
