Black leather is among the hardest surfaces on a figure, and the acrylic paint Italian WWI Uniforms Cuoio Nero Cromo from Lifecolor is intended for exactly that.
Responsibility details are not available.
The name joins the Italian cuoio, that is leather, with the designation of the black chrome-tanned finish. The shade comes from the Lifecolor figure range and is a water-based acrylic paint intended for small areas painted with a brush.
On a figure in a small scale a saturated black loses shape: the folds merge and a belt becomes a silhouette without detail. The answer is not to lighten the shade but to work with gradation within it. Leave the base dark and add the light only where the leather really stands out, that is on the edges of holsters, buckles and high boots. The smaller the figure, the more narrowly the light is led, or a gray stripe comes out of it.
It will serve figure painters who paint figures with black leather kit and want to keep the detail legible even in a small format. It also serves on the black leather of harnesses, binocular cases and other small accessories of a diorama scene. Beside the subdued fabric tones of the period set it acts as the fixed point around which the whole figure comes together.
