A gray tone with wide application is offered by the acrylic paint Lifecolor Luftwaffe Grau RLM 02, a color that shows on a model where the surface is rubbed and laid bare.
Responsibility details are not available.
This gray shade from the German aircraft coding has an established pairing of name and number that other paint makers use in the same form. The acrylic Luftwaffe Grau RLM 02 covers it and belongs to the shades that appear on a model not once but repeatedly in different places.
Most of the colors in this range describe a visible surface. RLM 02 is different in that it often shows only where the top layer has gone: on the edges of hatches, at walkways, around latches and in the area of frequently opened covers. A modeler therefore needs it in two roles at once: once as an area seen whole, a second time as a thin line beneath the camouflage coat. The same shade handles both; only the method of application and the area it takes up change.
It is one of the shades modelers of German aircraft reach for most often, but it will also serve outside that circle as a neutral technical gray without a pronounced color cast.
Stir the paint thoroughly before work. Store it in a closed container, out of the reach of children and out of direct sun.
