The lighter tone of the two-color upper camouflage is offered by Lifecolor Luftwaffe Grauviolett RLM 75, an acrylic gray-violet shade of the German aircraft coding.
Responsibility details are not available.
A gray-violet acrylic shade listed in the German aircraft coding under the number 75. In the pair of upper colors that holds on German fighters from 1941 on, it is the lighter tone; its darker counterpart carries the number 74.
The name points at the slight violet cast by which the shade sets itself apart from purely gray colors. On a model that cast shows mainly in comparison with the surrounding areas: beside the darker gray-green it reads cooler, beside the light blue on the lower part of the fuselage it reads warmer instead. The believability of the whole scheme lives on that contrast, so it pays to apply both upper colors shortly after one another and to compare them directly on the model rather than in the bottles. The early camouflage scheme from the start of the war does not work with this shade; its upper surfaces carry dark greens listed under lower numbers of the system, so the period the machine was meant to serve in decides the choice of colors.
Modelers who assemble a palette by RLM numbers and want both upper colors from one maker, so that the contrast between them follows one line of interpretation. Add the darker upper shade and the light blue for the lower surfaces to it.
Keep out of the reach of children. Ensure ventilation when spraying.
