The neutrally tuned variant of the American naval gray is presented by US Navy WWII Neutral Haze Gray from the Lifecolor acrylic range. A water-based acrylic paint for the vertical surfaces of US Navy ship models.
Responsibility details are not available.
A gray naval shade from the Lifecolor acrylic range, tied to the ships of the US Navy during the Second World War. The word neutral in the name separates this tone from the other grays of the range: it is meant to be purely gray, without a pull toward blue or toward brown. The paint is acrylic, water-based.
Why the difference between grays is worth dealing with at all
On a palette the naval grays look almost the same, but on a model they differ in which way they pull. A gray tuned toward blue curls up into a cool tone under light and shifts a ship toward the sea; a neutral one stays calm and holds the shape of the superstructures better. It therefore pays to choose a particular shade according to the mood the model is meant to have and then to keep to it over the whole vertical surface. The decks and the tops of the superstructures have colors of their own here too, because a horizontal surface reflects the sky and the gray from the sides looks different on it.
For modelers of American ships who want a gray without a blue cast, and for those who build several models side by side and need to tell the shades apart between them. It will also serve as a calm base under the later shading of surfaces.
Keep out of the reach of children, work with good ventilation and close the container carefully after use.
