The dark maroon railroad shade BR Maroon from the Lifecolor acrylic range is intended for railroad vehicles in a brown-red finish.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Lifecolor acrylic shade from the group intended for railroads. It is a deep brown-red commonly called maroon; on real cars it looks almost brown under an overcast sky and in direct sun it lights up toward red.
It is precisely this changeability that is an opportunity when painting a model. A shade applied perfectly evenly across a whole body looks dead, whereas a fine brightening of the centers of the panels and a darkening of their edges will give a model depth, and maroon takes that better than most other colors, because its tone shifts smoothly.

Recommendations
A rich dark color needs an even surface, or the differences will print through to the last coat. Apply it in thin coats with an airbrush; for small parts a brush is enough. Always stir the container thoroughly beforehand. Once the coat has flashed off, it pays to lay a dark wash into the engraved lines and to weather the lower parts and the running gear with dust: the maroon will shed its excessive cleanness by that and a car will start to look like a vehicle in service.
For railroad modelers and builders of models of historical machinery who are looking for a classic maroon in modeling quality.
Keep out of the reach of children. Work in a ventilated area.
