The AK Interactive starter sets combine a complete palette of acrylic paints with one exclusive figure that is not to be found on sale separately. This one is aimed at American airborne units of June 1944 and the figure is a radio operator of the 101st Airborne Division. The set thus brings together the shades for the uniform, the gear and the accessories of one particular theme, so the customer does not have to put the colors together one by one. The particular shades in the package are stated on the box of the set.
Wash the figure before painting and let it dry thoroughly, so that no residue from manufacture is left on the surface. A thin base helps the acrylic hold and at the same time shows where the casting still needs cleaning up. Shake the paints before use, lay thinned coats down step by step and let them dry between passes. On the gear and the straps it pays to work from a darker tone to a lighter one and to suggest the light spots only at the end; small details such as the buckles and the radio set gain markedly by it. Draw the finished figure together with a matte varnish, which also protects the paint when it is handled.
