A sheet of self-adhesive masks for spraying dashed warning stripes with a segment size of 0.7 x 1.3 mm.
Responsibility details are not available.
Real aircraft are covered in lines that nobody paints for decoration. They mark the places where you may step, where the cut for a rescue crew runs, how far the propeller arc reaches or where wiring runs under the skin that must not be drilled into. Some of them take the form of a dashed line made up of short segments.
It is exactly such a line that this sheet gives you. The segments measure 0.7 by 1.3 millimeters, which on a model corresponds to a dashed line that hand painting would never make even.
Use: the mask is peeled off, laid on a finished coat and pressed down. A contrasting color, usually red or black, is sprayed over it, and once the mask is removed a regular dashed stripe remains. Alternatively the mask can be used the other way round, that is as a template for the surrounding area.
Because these are general markings and not a cut for a particular kit, the sheet finds a use across projects. The item is therefore listed under several different scales. What scale it finally suits depends on how wide a stripe you need on a given machine, and that is easy to check by holding the sheet against the part.
Before sticking it down it pays to polish the surface and let the finish cure. On a fresh coat the mask holds less well and may pull the paint away with it. The rest of the sheet will keep in its original bag for years.
A dashed line also comes in useful on bases and dioramas, where it suggests ground markings on an airfield apron or a ramp.
