Waterslide Decals - Digital Forest Camo

Waterslide Decals Digital Forest Camo - pixel camouflage

This sheet from Green Stuff World is not an opaque paint and not a self-adhesive film but a water-soaked decal with digital pixel camouflage in forest greens and browns. A digital pattern is made up of small square fields and is practically impossible to reproduce by hand spraying, so a decal is the quickest and the most accurate solution here. The size of the sheet and the number of designs are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.

Soaking and working on a large area

Large-format decals behave differently from small lettering. Dip the piece in lukewarm water for only a few seconds and then let it rest on a towel - the film will release from the backing by itself and you do not have to handle it in the water, which is the main cause of tearing on large pieces. Lay the backing with the decal straight onto the moistened spot and draw the film off it with a brush, not with your fingers. Adjust the position while there is still water under it; as soon as it begins to dry it will stop moving. Always squeeze the water out with a soft cloth from the center toward the edges.

Where the pattern comes into its own

Pixel camouflage belongs on modern and science fiction vehicles, on wargaming models, transport containers, crates and scene accessories. It is also used to supplement a sprayed base, with the decal covering only selected panels.

Who the sheet is for

For modelers of modern vehicles and science fiction subjects and for wargamers who want a complex pattern without an airbrush and with the same result on every model.

The decals are not a paint. A gloss base coat, a softener and a matte coat are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
