About product

WWI German Lilac, an acrylic paint from the AK interactive aircraft range

A water-thinnable acrylic modeling paint from the aircraft range of the AK interactive brand, in the shade lilac. Compared with the more saturated violet tone this is a lighter and paler variant, the kind that appeared in German aircraft schemes of the First World War, for example on the bands and the lighter fields of the covering. The paint is an acrylic, that is with its own thinning and with no relation to the lacquer ranges. Light tones will not cover a dark surface by themselves, so it is sensible to build them over a light primer and not to rush full coverage in the first coat.

Use

  • Light violet areas and bands of German aircraft schemes from 1914 to 1918
  • Painting small details, where a saturated tone would look hard
  • Brush and airbrush; thin the paint for the airbrush
  • Mix the bottle thoroughly before use
  • Apply in thin coats to a degreased surface

Who it is for

For builders of aircraft of the First World War who work with multicolor schemes and need to tell a more saturated violet from a lighter one. The light tone also suits places where you only want to shift an area gently toward violet, because in a thin coat it works more as a hint than as full coverage. It is usable outside period subjects as well, wherever a pale violet comes in handy.

Do not mix the paint with enamel or lacquer products; ventilate while spraying and use a respirator.

FAQ

Lilac is a lighter and paler tone. The difference between the shades shows mainly in multicolor schemes.

Water or the acrylic thinner from the same manufacturer. Lacquer and enamel thinner do not belong in an acrylic.

The volume is stated on the label on the bottle.

Yes, it is an ordinary modeling acrylic paint. Being placed in the aircraft range determines the shade, not a limit on its use.
