A Tamiya acrylic paint in the shade XF-6 Copper, that is, copper. One point worth knowing in advance: although this is a metallic with a metal pigment, the manufacturer placed it in the matte XF line, not in the gloss X line. The result is therefore not mirror-bright — it has the character of a more matte, rather used and saturated metal, which suits copper. The bottle holds 10 ml. It is a modeling paint, not a kit.
The metal pigment is coarser than in ordinary acrylics and it sinks to the bottom of the bottle — without proper stirring you will draw off mostly clear binder. So stir it long and thoroughly, even between individual coats. A metallic looks best when it lies on a smooth, well-sealed surface; a rough surface clouds the shade. Apply it as the last color layer — overspray, clear coats and weathering washes easily suppress a metal look, and a metallic is generally harder to weather than ordinary opaque paints. Masking tape is also a risk over a metallic: it can damage the metal surface when it is lifted, so use it only when you must and with reduced tack. For spraying, thin the paint with Tamiya X-20A thinner.
For modelers of historic ships, steam engines and locomotives, for builders of dioramas and figures and for anyone who needs faithful copper without a toy-like glitter. It goes on with a brush as well as an airbrush.
Use in a well-ventilated space and protect your airways from the vapors and from the mist when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children.
