Yellow (Clear) – Transparent Yellow Lacquer (Mr.Paint)

What it is: a transparent yellow lacquer from the Mr.Paint range, intended for tinting, glazing and color effects. It is applied over another color or a glossy surface and tints it yellow without covering it. It suits tinting silver and chrome surfaces with a golden cast, coloring translucent parts (such as light covers or position lights), candy effects over a metallic base, and blending shades together. The paint is a solvent-based lacquer supplied ready to spray, drying quickly to a smooth surface.

What it is NOT: it is not an opaque yellow paint. On its own it will not cover the base, and over a light base it gives only a slight tint; richness is controlled by the number of coats and the color of the base.

Use

• Intended for the airbrush; apply in thin coats over a dry, ideally glossy base.
• If needed, it is thinned with lacquer thinner from this brand, not water.
• Build up the intensity of the tone gradually – more coats mean a richer yellow.
• Suited to tinting metallic finishes, coloring translucent parts and candy effects.
• Over a dark base it shows very little; it comes out best over a light or glossy base.

Who it is for

For modelers who work with an airbrush and need a transparent yellow for tinting, glazes and translucent parts. It is not a substitute for an opaque yellow paint. Mr.Paint lacquers are not primarily intended for brush painting.
