A saturated yellow from the Real Colors line of AK Interactive in a bottle of 17 ml. The name refers to the protective finish based on zinc chromate that was used to protect interior metal surfaces against corrosion. The shade is therefore yellow with a slight green cast, but distinctly yellower than the interior yellow-green of the same line.
Inside a model: on the structure, on the inner side of covers and panels, in the landing gear bays and everywhere an uncovered protective finish is to be seen. It also serves well in places where you want to suggest a repair or a part fitted later that has not yet received its top coat. Combined with a dark wash, the area immediately looks like a technical surface rather than a decorative one.
Yellow is among the shades with lower covering power, so count on several thin coats and on a light base over which it brightens. Stir the paint properly, because with saturated shades the pigment settles quickly. Wash and degrease the surface, otherwise patches appear on greasy spots. Apply masks before spraying and remove them only once the paint is dry. The recommended thinner, the thinning ratio and the cleaning of tools are stated by the manufacturer, so follow those instructions.
