0.5 mm Wingnut is a set of imitation wing nuts in the 0.5 mm size. It is used wherever the real thing is tightened by hand - on brackets, covers, jerrycans or tool clamps.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail accessory for modelers of military vehicles. A wing nut belongs where the real machine is loosened and tightened by hand without a wrench - on tool clamps, jerrycans, hatches, and the fastenings of tarpaulins or covers. That is precisely the shape a kit renders badly, usually simplified into a bump, so the replacement is immediately apparent on the model. The 0.5 mm size given in the name is the finest step in the range.
The 0.5 mm dimension corresponds to roughly 18 mm of real size in 1:35 scale, about 24 mm in 1:48 and some 36 mm in 1:72. It therefore suits small fastenings in the large scales; for conspicuous nuts in the small scales, reach for a bigger step - the manufacturer also offers the 0.7, 1, 1.2 and 1.5 mm sizes.
Builders of vehicles and dioramas who are refining how the equipment is secured on the hull and the fenders will appreciate it, as will modelers who need to restore detail after repairing a part. The work calls for tweezers, a sharp knife and a steady hand.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the pin vise are not included in the package.
