Hex imitations of rivets and bolts from the Japanese brand Top Studio 0.7 mm in diameter in a golden brass finish. It is not a kit, but supplementary detailing parts with which the indistinct molded heads of bolts on a model are replaced. The dimension in the name is the diameter of the head of the rivet, not a scale, so the set is not tied to one particular kit.
This size is the universal middle of the range, which runs from 0.5 to 1.0 mm. It proves itself on body panels and engine covers, on hood quick-release fasteners, on the mounting of fenders and on service caps. It is large enough to be visible and at the same time fine enough not to coarsen the shape of a part. If you are not sure which size to buy first, seven tenths tends to be the safest choice.
Top Studio hex rivets are kept in three versions, A, B and C, which differ from one another in the shape of the head. Version B is available in a brass as well as a silver shade, so the same shape can be used in both colors, for instance to set aluminum and brass joints apart on one car.
Choose the super glue according to the situation. A thin glue wicks into a pre-drilled hole and suits the case where the rivet sits exactly. A gel glue holds the rivet in place longer and forgives a missed position better, but it flows onto the surface more easily. In both cases dose it with a wire or a pin. Wipe any white haze around the joint away with a cotton swab dampened in alcohol before it dries.
This is not a kit of a model, but supplementary parts. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
