This is a kit of the P 204 (f) armored car in the small 1:100 scale. The model is supplied in parts that have to be cleaned up, glued and painted. The 1:100 scale matches what is called the 15 mm standard, so the item suits a display case as well as a gaming table, where it is used in groups of vehicles. The finished model is only a few centimeters long, so the parts are small and fine.
The designation P 204 (f) was used by the German side for the French Panhard 178 armored cars it took over after 1940. It was a four-wheeled vehicle with all-wheel drive, a turret with gun armament and a crew of several men. In German service these vehicles were used mainly by patrol, guard and rear-area units, where they made up for a shortage of German equipment. Some of the vehicles were modified, for example rearmed or fitted with a radio set.
A small scale forgives less sloppiness than large kits. Cut the parts off with a sharp scalpel and sand the remains of the gates with a fine file. Dry-fit the parts before gluing. Always apply a thin coat of primer first, otherwise the paint will hold badly on the smooth surface. Spray the base shade with an airbrush or apply it in two thin layers with a brush, bring the details out with a dry brush and underline the seams with a dark wash. At the end we recommend evening the finish out with a matte varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
