The model belongs to an extensive range of small kits in 1:100 scale that systematically maps French interwar equipment. This scale is at home on gaming tables as well as in display cases, where a whole unit can be lined up without demands on space. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The number of parts, the material and the composition of the package are given in the instructions supplied with the kit.
The Panhard 165-175 was a French armored car of interwar design with a rotating turret. Vehicles of this type were built above all for service in overseas territories, where great distances, poor roads and the need to manage for a long time without support were expected. Hence the emphasis on range, simple maintenance and light armor, which was to protect the crew from small arms fire and splinters, not from artillery. The particular composition of the armament varied according to the batch and the period of service.
In 1:100 scale you work with very small parts, so have tweezers, a sharp knife and good light ready. Clean the parts carefully, as the engraved detail is shallow and easily sanded away. Apply the base in a thin coat, ideally from a spray can or an airbrush. French vehicles of that time wore pronounced multicolor camouflage with dark dividing stripes; at this scale it is best to paint them with a fine brush or an airbrush at very low pressure rather than to mask them. Bring out details such as the lights and the vision ports with a dot of paint and keep the weathering restrained: a fine wash and a little dust on the wheels are enough.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
