A set of die-cut self-adhesive masks, Peewit 1:144 BAe Harrier GR.7, for the cockpit glazing. A modeling accessory for the build, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Die-cut self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Peewit for a model of the BAe Harrier GR.7 attack aircraft in 1:144 scale. The set covers the glazed areas during spraying, so that the framing of the cockpit comes out sharp even on a very small part. It is not a kit but an accessory for building the model.
The masks are cut from thin low-tack kabuki-type masking tape. The tape is pliable, adheres even to domed glazing and, if taken off gently, as a rule leaves no glue residue. The individual pieces are lifted with fine-tipped tweezers.
The Harrier is a single-seat vertical and short takeoff and landing aircraft whose high-set cockpit rises above the line of the fuselage and is very exposed to view on a model. In 1:144 scale the whole canopy measures only a few millimeters and the frames are thinner than anything that can reliably be drawn with a brush. A mask stuck down gives the frame a straight edge and makes it possible to spray it in exactly the same dark gray the rest of the airframe carries.
Spray the interior shade first, then stick the masks down and spray over them in the external shade. Seal the edge with a thin coat of varnish. On single-color modern schemes it helps to varnish the area locally to a gloss before the decals, as a matte surface would otherwise give them away. Take the masks off only once the paint has set, pulling at an angle.
The package contains only masks. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
