Bojarin 1550 is a collector's figure cast in resin from the Czech manufacturer ROP o.s. The figure of 75 mm states the size of the figure, not a scale. The set is meant to be assembled and painted by the modeler and will please anyone interested in Russian history of the 16th century.
The boyars were members of the Russian nobility, a powerful aristocratic class in the period up to the reign of Ivan IV. The figure, dated to 1550, renders a boyar in richly decorated period dress with sumptuous fabrics and accessories. The subject is rewarding for painting patterns, ornament and transitions between materials.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and dry-fit them. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and protect your breathing while sanding. A primer and painting in thin coats are recommended; you will render the dress, the face and the ornament with oils or acrylics, shading the highlights and shadows.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
