Responsibility details are not available.
A short-run injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Beriev Be-6 flying boat in 1:144 scale from Amodel, in the form used by Soviet Polar Aviation. The set usually holds plastic parts and photo-etched items for the fine detail. The striking high-visibility coloring for Arctic conditions makes the model an eye-catching piece for a display case.
The Beriev Be-6 was a large twin-engine flying boat with a gull-shaped high-mounted wing that the Soviet Navy used for patrol, reconnaissance and search tasks over the sea. Aircraft in the service of Polar Aviation handled communication and survey work in remote Arctic regions, where they were painted in striking colors for better visibility. The Be-6 served for a number of years and became one of the typical Soviet seaplanes of the postwar era.
Clean the short-run parts up carefully and fit them dry, especially where the hull of the boat meets the engine nacelles. Glue the photo-etched items with cyanoacrylate glue. Lay the striking Arctic colors down with an airbrush over a smooth base, and use a gloss varnish before the decals. It is a good idea to mask the cockpit glazing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
