A kit of the German twin-engine Dornier Do 17Z-2/3 bomber in 1:144 scale, in the standard listed under the designation Western Front.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Dornier Do 17 was among the first German bombers of the Second World War and its slender fuselage earned it the nickname the flying pencil. The Do 17Z version received a roomier, heavily glazed nose, into which the whole crew of four fitted together, and a pair of radial engines. It was a fast but lightly armored machine with a small bomb load, which from 1940 was gradually withdrawn to the second line and to training.
This is a kit in 1:144 scale. A model of this size takes up a minimum of room in a display case, so it suits even places where there is no room for large bombers. The extent of the parts and the choice of markings are given in the maker's instructions.
A small scale forgives less than it seems: separate the parts with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder, otherwise any asymmetry will show on the slender fuselage. Wash and degrease the model before painting. Prepare the glazing of the nose beforehand, as masking such a tiny cockpit is easier before assembly. Choose the glue and the paints according to the material of the parts and according to the maker's instructions.
It suits collectors of German bomber aircraft and builders who are putting together a survey of types in a single small scale. Paints, glue and tools are not supplied, unless stated otherwise.
