A miniature kit of the British Mark IV heavy tank in the Male version in 1:144 scale. The finished model measures only a few centimeters, so it suits a display case beside aircraft of the same scale and a small diorama scene alike. After unpacking, first go through what is in the box and choose the glue accordingly.
The Mark IV was the most numerously built British heavy tank, in service from 1917. Characteristic is the rhomboid hull, around whose whole outline the track runs — thanks to which the machine crossed wide trenches and broken ground. The designation Male tells the version with heavier gun armament in two side sponsons from the Female version, which carried machine gun armament only. The tank moved at walking pace and its task was to open a way through wire obstacles and a trench line.
Work over a tray with a raised edge and pick the parts up only just before gluing — in this scale a lost part is hard to find. Join injection-molded plastic with thin cement for plastic, and resin and metal parts with super glue. Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent before building, so that the primer holds on them. It can be painted by brush or with an airbrush; the plain area of the hull comes alive with a light dry brush on the rivets and edges and with a darker flowing paint in the recesses between the track links.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
