Brengun 1:144 MiG-15bis photo-etched set, two pieces in the box is an accessory to a kit you have already bought, not a model. Etched sheet brings thin flat parts to a model that cannot be made from plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched metal parts intended for a model of the MiG-15bis fighter in 1:144 scale. It is cut for one particular kit, the Eduard one, and holds two pieces, so it will cover two models. That comes in handy precisely in a small scale, where machines are often built in pairs or in a whole formation. It is not a kit but an accessory to a model that you buy separately.
The MiG-15bis is the improved production variant of the Soviet MiG-15 jet fighter, powered by a more powerful engine. Outwardly it differs from the basic version only in details, which makes the accuracy of the small features on a model all the more important.
In 1:144 scale injected plastic has a limit on shape: anything thin comes out too thick and anything small is lost in the form of the mold. Etched sheet sidesteps that problem; its thickness is a fraction of a millimeter and its etching holds a sharp line. Working with it has rules of its own. Cut the parts out with a scalpel, not with scissors. Apply super glue in a minute drop on the tip of a wire or a sharpened toothpick, as an excess cannot be removed from smooth metal. Flat surfaces are better painted while still on the fret, bent parts only after they are joined. Always degrease the metal with alcohol before painting and cover it with a primer. Apply the paint thinly, as a heavy coat fills in exactly the fine line that photo-etched parts are bought for.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
