The set is not an aircraft model and not a kit: it holds masks made of paper which are put into the landing gear bays while painting and protect them from the spray. Use

• Before spraying, put the masks into the landing gear bays and press them against the edges of the openings.
• Spray in the usual way: the base coat first, then the covering shades.
• Remove the masks while the paint is freshly dry; the edges then stay sharp.
• Paint the bays in with a brush only after the masks are off, so that the shade does not get onto the outer surfaces.

Who the set is for

For modelers of small scales who dislike having to mask small openings laboriously with tape or masking putty in 1:144. Paper inserts hold their shape and in such a small scale they are quicker to work with than pieces of tape cut by hand. Those who build the P-47D in larger numbers, for example for a display case with formations, will appreciate them too.
